On Wednesday the 19th of December, yr 5 went on a long journey to The Ragged School Museum. We went to a poor Victorian kitchen, with a man who was very funny. We were lucky enough to get dressed up as a poor Victorian so when we did activities it looked really effective!!
It was then that we got told we were going to the classroom and we were to be on our best behaviour as we went back in time 120 years. It was very exciting until we got down stairs and we were petrified. We did lots of maths, English, practising for an Inspector and writing on slates. We were so relived when we went forward in time again and asked questions while she showed some punishments.

Junoir Road Safety Officers patrol Fulham road with the police...

On the 21st of November the school's JRSOs went out to patrol the streets and stop speeding drivers. Jasmine and Max managed to stop 3 dangerous drivers. They gave out leaflets to the people they stopped. They also asked people to answer 3 questions; one did not want to speak. They also had their pictures taken with the police and speeding drivers. They had a turn with the heavy hand held speed cameras. The JRSO's had a chat with P.C. Nick and other police men about keeping safe around roads. Then they were given tabards and caps with pictures of traffic lights on them. They had a great time and can't wait until they next meet with the police.

Yr 5 go data logging

On the 13th of November Year 5 went to the CLC. When we got there Jenny greeted us, we felt very welcomed. After that we went up stairs to CLC 3 and settled down, after our noisy street walk to the CLC. First of all we saw the interactive white board had a huge scale on it. The scale was measuring the sounds in the room. The website that had the scale on it was called data harvest, Jenny had a data logger with her which was connected to the computer. Jenny explained what a data logger did. A data logger is a product which measures the sound, light and temperature in the room. Jenny gave us a data logger to share with our talking partner. With our talking partners we worked out how to use it. Next we had a break. When we got back to CLC 3 we did a curtain experiment to see which fabric would let the most light through but wouldn't let anyone see in and which fabric would not let any light in, it was really fun!!!!!!!!!

Year 5's Journey to Sayers Croft

This is a picture of us in the shelter building area

On October 10Th year 5 set off to Sayers Croft field centre. We left, hands full with luggage, MARSHMALLOWS and some of us full of tears. The journey took roughly an exhausting hour and a half. When we arrived all you could hear was screaming children and the thumping of feet, while we jumped up and down with excitement. Then we were force to carry our tons of suitcases to our cabin. Finally we arrived at our cabin, we made our beds and unpacked our bag. Highlights of the Trip where the Tarzan rope course, climbing wall and roastingMARSHMALLOWS and telling scary stories around the camp fire.
