Technology comes to town!

By Emma and Evie

On 14th January 2009, five
pupils and a teacher from
All Saints visited the
BETT Show in Olympia.
It was so busy that there
were queues stretching
as far as around the corner
of the street.

BETT stands for ‘British
Education and Technology
Training’ It is an annual
show and is the biggest in the
whole of Europe. It is so popular that the French Minister of Education was there.

There were many stalls selling products from new designs of whiteboards to chocolate fountains. The salesman’s sleek ways led many of the public to consider investing in the company.

“My favourite stall was the weather channel because it actually felt like I was on T.V.” This was just one of the comments about the show we received.

The exhibition was open to the public, and managed to attract 4,000 visitors on its opening day. The attendees were mainly teachers or businessmen or women looking to invest.

There was a buzz about the place as the public got a glimpse into the future.

The BETT Show is open from 14th to 17th of January and supplies you with an insight into a new generation of technology.

Year 6's trip to Childrens Parliment

On the 26th of November 2008 ,10 students from year 6 went to the Hammersmith town hall to take part in a competition. We took the bus and got very nervous on our journey practising all we could! When we arrived there was a long wait before we started. When we realized that we were going second our nerves went from six to ten!! Addison set the standards very high but when it was our go it seemed very enjoyable. Once all the schools had been we could ask our partner school some questions and vote for who we wanted to win for the children's vote. Bridie answered our question well and clear and everyone was very pleased.

Then the time came that we had all been waiting for .The Results.Everyone, even the audience had their fingers crossed.First the had councilor said a few words of appreciation to all who had participated and made the event possible .First the councilor mad an introduction to for The presentation award .Everyone was silent .Then the only two words we didn't expect him to say came out "All Saints ".We all celebrated in silence while walking up to receive or award .The councilor congratulated us and handed us our framed reward and science encyclopedia reward .Then the other rewards followed. Then then came the Children's award the only award that us children voted for .The word "Addison " were announced .Addison won the children's award and took it Gratefully .Eventually we had a photo shoot taken .Finally we traveled back to school and WE WERE GLAD TO BE RELEASED OF ALL THAT PRESSURE.
